Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Chia Seed Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, or soy)
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes

 

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chia seeds and non-dairy milk.
  2. Let the chia seed mixture sit until the seeds absorb the liquid and create a gel-like consistency.
  3. Transfer chia seed mixture to a blender.
  4. Add cacao powder, peanut butter, mashed banana, ground cinnamon, maple syrup and ice cubes.
  5. Blend ingredients until you reach a smooth, creamy texture.
  6. If too thick, slowly add more non-dairy milk until you reach your desired texture.
  7. Taste for sweetness and adjust by adding a little more maple syrup.
  8. Blend briefly to combine.
  9. Pour into a tall glass, garnish with cinnamon, and enjoy!
