Why Chiropractic Should Be Part of Your Self-Care Routine
(Health Secrets Newsletter) Funny thing about life — it is all about how you see things. In my world there are no such things as failure, defeat, misfortune or losing out. There are just opportunities to learn and grow.
Some people choose to see the proverbial glass as half full, some as half empty, and some see it as a glass being continually filled. Those who see the glass a perpetually replenishing itself realize that as one door closes, another even better one always opens.
We’ve all heard the expression that opportunity almost always comes disguised as hardship, failure or a stressful situation. Keep yourself aware of this and open to it, or you will miss opportunity knocking!
All of our life experiences have been wrapped into a package of wisdom and insight that is uniquely ours. The challenge is to be open to seeing, experiencing, receiving and recognizing this inner wisdom and insight. Most of us are so entangled in the drama of daily life that we forget to acknowledge the essence of this gift.
It takes some practice to cultivate the technique of seeing problems, challenges and issues as an opportunity to showcase skills and develop even more wisdom. If you make it a priority to establish new habits in your life, such as looking for the opportunity, or as I like to say the gift, in every situation you will find that it becomes effortless. All you have to do is exercise this new found optimism.
Knowledge is the accumulation of facts and information. Wisdom is the blending of knowledge and experiences into insights that deepen your understanding of relationships and the meaning of life. In other words, knowledge is a tool, and wisdom is the way in which the tool is used.
We move through life looking for guidance from those who have a wealth of wisdom because they are able to see context, relevance and how it may impact us. Having information does us little good if we haven’t master the skill of application in learning how to turn it into wisdom. Experience teaches and our role is to intently listen.
Those who understand that everything happens in its own perfect time, as part of a master plan guided by a loving power higher, find experiences neither good nor bad – they just are and we are here to enjoy the journey.
Be content for where you are, grateful for where you have been, and eager for where you are going. Welcome life’s experiences and believe they come with gifts of wisdom that will allow you to enjoy life to its fullest potential. Dream and imagine what your life would be like if you embrace this new truth.
With this new truth, you can move into the future without fear because you have unshakable faith that experience brings wisdom, wisdom brings insight, and insight is the key to living life with enthusiasm and joy. Opportunity abounds but you have to learn to recognize it and open yourself to it. When you begin to see the world through rose-colored glasses of optimism you won’t miss another opportunity. You will soon believe every life experience is a precious gift worth unwrapping.
