(Health Secrets) The old method of treating hemorrhoids using pads soaked with a solution of witch hazel (an astringent and healing tree from which the bark is usually used as the medicine), was and continues to be an effective treatment in many cases. The pads were usually applied topically and they were cooling and effective at nourishing and repairing the failing capillary. When someone has a persistent hemorrhoid condition, however, the vein can come out quite a ways and can be difficult to heal. Sometimes, even high quality witch hazel extract is not enough.
Thus, we have developed a few tools for hemorrhoids that are more powerful. Before we launch into that, it seems right to discuss the dietary connection to this condition (which used to be called piles). There are certain foods that are so aggressive at robbing nutrients from capillaries, so acidifying to the blood and so debilitating to any genetically weak tissue, that any discussion of hemorrhoids is incomplete without discussing them. Indeed, if you want long-term healing you are wise to take care of your body overall, as well as treat the problem itself.
Capillary thieves, as I call them, are foods which tend to rob the body of nutrients, with a particular aggression toward the arteries, veins and tiny capillaries that carry blood and nutrients through your body and wastes away from your cells.
The champion thieves are all dairy products, wheat and most flour products, processed sugars, and processed soy such as found in soy protein isolate.
Other things certainly can rob the body, but most people will find that when they abandon those four foods that they will have such a substantial improvement in overall health that they can go quite a while without thinking about the next thing they might need to change for continued health improvement.
Certainly, for a person with capillary integrity problems, eliminating these foods can go a very long way toward making them feel substantially better. When it comes to healing hemorrhoids, an ounce of prevention is probably still worth a pound of cure, but they are not that hard to heal either.
While Dr. Christopher dealt with severe hemorrhoids using a garlic implant (really, he just took a peeled button of garlic, placed it in the rectum after nicking the outside a bit and had the person jog around and the hemorrhoids would, according to Dr. Christopher, just pull right back up inside), generally, today we use two very powerful herbs that work together to both regenerate and purify the veins and capillaries in the rectum.
These two herbs are comfrey root and white oak bark.
I buy these in powder form and mix them with cocoa butter to create a suppository about the size of the little finger. This is then refrigerated.
Each night one suppository is inserted before bed. The body heat melts the cocoa butter and the herbs gradually seep into the surrounding tissues. As they do they disinfect, purify, remove clots and regenerate and astringe the tissue to pull things back into place and make strong that which was weak.
It is usually a quick remedy, but it is to be repeated until fully healed. Usually, this will be a lifetime fix if good dietary principles are followed thereafter.
One thing that can be quite helpful is the prudent use of apple cider vinegar, honey and cayenne. This mixture is made up with hot distilled water and sipped before and during meals. This helps protect capillaries against toxic damage and can greatly improve digestion.
Generally, I mix one cup of honey, one cup of vinegar, and two to four cups of distilled water and add 1/4 teaspoon (less in the beginning, more later) of cayenne pepper. This will keep in the fridge until consumed. It does not need to be re-warmed to use, but can be drunk cold with full effect.
