Functions as an electrolyte: Fulvic acid increases the permeability of cell membranes and enhances RNA and DNA metabolism. It can restore chemical balance to cells, reviving even dying cells in both plants and animals.
Improves enzyme reactions: This increased enzymatic activity is essential to restoring and maintaining health. Enzymes speed up or cause a chemical reactions to occur. All metabolic processes in the body are dependent on enzymes, from digestion of the food we eat, to the burning of glucose for energy by the cells.

Because mineral deficiency is so widespread, with some estimates placing 90% of the population at risk, some scientists have started advising that fulvic acid be taken as a supplement. It is important that the supplement be free form fulvic acid, that it specifies low molecular weight, and that it be free of heavy metals. The company selling it should be willing to verify the mineral content of their product, where it comes from, amino acid content, electrical conductivity (verifies electrolyte potency) and the oxygen/hydrogen/nitrogen content (shows antioxidant potential).
